Two of our province’s postulants were invested with the Franciscan habit and began their novitiate at the Sanctuary of San Damiano in Assisi, Italy.

On Saturday, September 7, 2019, Friars Daniel Cavalieri, Carl Green, and John (Jack) Sidoti, OFM, Professed their First Vows in the Order of Friars Minor, Province of the Immaculate Conception at a Solemn Concelebrated Mass at 5:00 PM at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Sullivan Street, New York City.

This is the result of the Capitular Congressus, held June 24-25 at the Provincial Curia, NYC.

At our Provincial Chapter 2019, Friar Victor Treminio, OFM, our post-novitiate friar in formation in Rome, Italy, made his Solemn Profession of Vows.

Five friars were elected to assist Friar Robert Campagna, OFM, our Provincial Minister, and Friar Patrick Boyle, OFM, our Provincial Vicar, in the administration of our province.

Fr. Capistran Polgar passed into eternal life on Friday, April 26, 2019.

Friar Francis Hanudel, OFM, died April 21, 2019 at age 73

Fr. Fabian Grifone, OFM, stationed at Padua Friary in New York City, has died at the age of 93.

We received word that our brother, Friar Albert McMahon, O.F.M., passed into eternal life in the early afternoon today, February 8, 2018. At the time of his passing, Fr. Albert was affiliated to the community of St. Anthony of Padua Friary, Catskill, New York, while under the care of the staff of Albany Medical Center. Fr. Albert was 83 years of age.

We commend to your prayers the soul of our brother, Friar Lucius (Mario) Annese, OFM, (86) who passed into eternal life during the early afternoon of Saturday, January 20, 2018. At the time of his passing, Fr. Lucius was affiliated with the community of Saint Christopher Friary, Boston, Massachusetts, while in residence and under hospice care of the staff of Kaplan Family House, Danvers, Massachusetts. Fr. Lucius was the son of the late Antonette (Forgione) and Antonio Annese, having been born in Grottaminarda, Italy on November 12, 1931. He is survived by his sister, Jean B. Annese of Somerville, Massachusetts.

We commend to your prayers the soul of our brother, Friar Juniper O'Connor, OFM, (65) who passed into eternal life during the early afternoon on Monday, November 27th. At the time of his passing, Friar Juniper was under the care of the Staff at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Florida. Friar Juniper was the Guardian of St. Paul Friary, Clearwater Beach, Florida.

Friar Louis Diego De Tommaso, OFM, age 89, passed into eternal life on October 31. Friar Louis was affiliated with Padua Friary in Manhattan, and in residence at Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home.
